Grammar author
Ackren's competence is authored, not trained. The grammar, the lexicon and the qualia relations are written and checked by hand. This role writes them. It is the most load-bearing seat in the company, and it stays with one person on purpose.

What you would do

Author the grammar
Write and maintain the rules and frames that parse and generate language. This is the part that is not safe to crowd-verify, so it stays with you.

Build the lexicon and qualia
Extend the lexicon and the qualia relations, roughly thirty-six thousand of them today, that carry word meaning. These are authored, listed and checkable, never inferred from weights.

Ship packs through Quire
Domain competence ships as a pack: authored, checked and signed in Quire before it goes out. A pack is a set of leaves folded together, which is what the name means. It is not a skill and not a plugin.

Hold the line on claims
State what the grammar covers and, in the same breath, what it does not. A limit written next to the capability reads as known. A limit found later reads as missed.
Requirements
What we are looking for
You are comfortable in formal and computational grammar and in lexical semantics, and you have opinions about qualia structure. You write precisely and you are willing to put a coverage limit in print. Prior work on generative-lexicon-style representations, treebanks or hand-built grammars is the strongest signal. This is authorship, so taste and consistency matter as much as breadth.

Terms
How we work
Fully remote, worldwide, with a few hours of overlap with UK hours, GMT or BST. Authorship stays centralised: one person owns the grammar so that the rules and frames stay coherent, and that is the seat we are filling. Work you author for Aleten is assigned to Aleten, stated here rather than later. The specifications are public as they are finished, so you can read most of the current state before you write to us.
What this role does not promise
Authorship is a research problem, not a task with an end date. Coverage is strictly less than one no matter how much is authored, and no amount of authoring closes the gap. Novel bridging is detected, never resolved, and nothing in the model holds an argument together across paragraphs. If you need a problem that finishes, this is not it. If you want to write the part of an AI system that a person can actually read, it is.
